Winter Training

“My daughter was so eager to attend the clinic each Sunday that she had to be reminded that the clinic did not start until the afternoon. All of the activities implemented at this clinic were fantastic and I thought the kids thoroughly enjoyed them”

                                              Winter Training Programs  2020 - 2021

The off-season is the perfect time to tune up. This is when goal-setting begins for spring: learning about the game, preparing for team play, getting ready for the next level, or learning new skills while developing existing ones. We offer a range of programs for beginners through travel players, all carefully designed to help players develop their technique and confidence.

All winter programs are held indoors at the JCC of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, convenient to I-495. Our first session runs December-January, while our second winter session runs February-March.

About Our Waitlists

Space is limited and classes in both winter sessions fill extremely quickly. When a program is ful l, we automatically start a waitlist and stay in contact with those families. If we are unable to accommodate your player, we will refund your registration fee in full.

The Art of Scoring Goals
9-11 year olds
Scoring goals is the most important and difficult skill in soccer. It requires unique skills and abilities. Our program focuses on a variety of topics such as learn proper shooting techniques, enhance power and accuracy, develop an ability to get into scoring positions, learn goalkeeper's variabilities, increase awareness in front of the goal and build confidence as a goal scorer. The camp is suitable for players in all field positions and not just forwards.
Lil' Boots Advanced
5-6 year olds
Suitable for both slightly older beginners and those who have had some earlier exposure to soccer, Lil' Boots Advanced is an active, age-appropriate, fun introduction to soccer for school-aged players. Campers will learn fundamental skills through creative activities and challenges, plus explore the concept of team play in a positive, supportive way. They will develop physical skills like coordination and balance, plus important cognitive skills like listening, communication, and problem-solving.
Goalkeeper Training
9-11 year olds
Goalkeeper Training teachers players to confidently and successfully repel attacks, by developing technical, physical, and cognitive skill sets. Goalkeepers must possess and improve a separate set of technical, mental, and physical skills than the field player. Players learn through instructional demos, technical activities and dynamic exercises. They also have an opportunity to apply the skills and concepts learned in game-like situations during shooting drills and scrimmages.
Lil' Boots Juniors
3-4 year olds
Lil' Boots Juniors is specifically designed to create a positive first experience for preschool-age players, who will learn soccer fundamentals through fun activities and noncompetitive, small-sided games. Players will build self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of sportsmanship and fair play while developing coordination and physical, mental, and social skills.
Ball Mastery Green, Blue & Gold
Ages 7-8, 9-13, advanced 9-13
This progressive, three-level program focuses on ball manipulation, soft-touch, creative moves, passing and receiving, and dribbling in tight space. By adding cognitive challenges, players develop field awareness, reaction speed, quick thinking, and smart decision making, and learn to apply their skills in game-like situations.
